Wild River Wilderness

September 27-30, 2018

backpacking in New Hampshire (and option of extra day of paddling in Maine!)

Scholarships available for Maine-based care-providing professionals! See info on our Wellness for Portland Communities of Care page.

Three days of backpacking and camping in the Wild River Wilderness  in New Hampshire. We will rendezvous on Thursday evening for our first night at Wild River Campground. On Friday-Saturday, we will hike a leisurely but rugged 3-4 miles each day with stops to splash in brooks, read some poems, and soak up vistas. On Sunday we'll hike back to Wild River Campground to be out before lunch.

Add on paddle option: If you have time Sunday then stick around for an afternoon paddling on the Androscoggin River! And we'll probably stop in at the pub before heading home.

Previous backpacking or paddling experience isn’t necessary, but it is important that participants be in good condition to navigate the terrain and elevation gains while carrying personal and group gear. Registration is required.

Cost: $495 per person

Paddling option: additional $75 (includes canoe rentals, shuttle, and Sunday lunch).

Guide: Aram Mitchell

1st: If you want to paddle on Sunday select the Androscoggin River Add-on button and add it to your cart.

2nd: After the Add-on is in your cart select the Register For Wild River button and complete registration process.
