This backpacking/paddling combination trip begins with a backpacking overnight along the Wild River and Black Angel Trails to the Blue Brook Tentsite in the Wild River Wilderness of the White Mountains National Forest. We will then hike out the next morning, with a stop at the Wild River for a good swim. We will then spend Saturday night at a campground on the Androscoggin River near Bethel, Maine with proximity to some more good swimming and local hiking trails. Enjoy fellowship that evening with your wilderness community at a local brewery and wake up to paddle the beautiful Androscoggin River on Sunday morning. Previous backpacking or paddling experience isn’t necessary, but it is important that participants be in good condition to navigate the terrain and small elevation gains while carrying personal and group gear.
